Rezinal | Sustainable Zinc Recycling was proud to participate in the 2026 GDMB Zinc & Lead Expert Conference, the annual gathering organized by the GDMB Gesellschaft der Metallurgen und Bergleute e.V. (Society of Metallurgists and Miners in Germany). The conference brings together leading experts from across the zinc and lead industry to exchange knowledge and explore the future of sustainable metallurgy.

During the conference, Kristiaan Deckers, General Manager at Rezinal, delivered a presentation focusing on the sustainability performance of remelt zinc and the development of a new Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Tool. The presentation showed how transparent and science-based environmental data can support more sustainable material choices throughout the zinc value chain.

Kristiaan also presented Rezinal's approach to producing secondary zinc containing alloying elements, offering an efficient and circular alternative for applications where these alloying elements provide added value. By recovering and reusing valuable metals, Rezinal contributes to reducing the need for primary raw materials while supporting a more circular economy.

In addition, the presentation showcased Rezinal's exceptionally low carbon footprint for its secondary zinc production. Through advanced recycling processes and continuous investments in sustainability, Rezinal significantly reduces CO₂ emissions compared to primary zinc production, helping customers lower the environmental impact of their products.

Rezinal would like to thank GDMB for organizing another excellent conference and all participants for the valuable discussions and exchange of ideas. We remain committed to driving innovation and sustainability within the zinc industry and look forward to continuing these conversations with partners across the value chain.
